Those Scorpio to Sagittarius Ladies!

Here's my pencil portrait of the Scorpio to Sagittarius Ladies! Naturally, this represents the 8th sign morphing into the 9th sign of the Zodiac - Scorpio with Mars-Pluto vibes advances to Sagittarius with Jupiter vibes!

Note that this very morning (10:43 am edt), transit Jupiter and Neptune met in Great Conjunction @23Pis59 and you're invited to view the bubbly pair's DC Horoscope if you wish!

Sabian Symbol for 2022's Jup-Nep Conjunction:

Moonlight Rain and New Moon in Sag 12.5.10

Here's a little Moonlight Rain to celebrate (discreetly, of course!) the December 5, 2010 New Moon in Sagittarius, sign of The Seeker.

The illustration above shows a Full Moon which definitely isn't as dark as tonight, Saturday night, and Sunday night will progressively be for we're in the 3-day Balsamic phase prior to the precise moment the New Moon perfects with the Sun (and I'd need to draw a totally blacked-out Moon to show the lunation precisely, so why not settle for this lighter representation of a Full Moon, yes?)

Because in only two weeks, the Dec 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse in Gemini will manifest as the culmination and fulfillment of this Monday's New Moon 13Sag28 when seeds of new ventures are planted and nurtured.

Why, it's almost lyrical, the Dec 5 New Moon's Sabian Symbol: '14Sag'..."The Pyramid and the Sphinx" and yet something sinister underneath the symbol cannot be ruled out - especially if you study the mundane horoscopes of Politics and political thespians as I often do!

Path to an Ancient Temple

Path to an Ancient Temple is a noble republish of one of my jungle-y drawings from about 3 years ago. This image puts me in mind of a similar illustration I've used to represent the last degree of Pisces where Jupiter and Uranus must soon tarry a moment before conjoining the Aries Point (00Ari00:00) in tandem @ 00Ari18 on June 8, 2010. This grand rendevous of Jupiter and Uranus @ AP may bring the world some kind of new wonderment! Even new, enthralling insights into Astrology or Religion are potentials. '30 Pisces' = "The Great Stone Face"... Quoting in part from Marc Edmund Jones' book, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology (my bold): Each individual selects the image within himself to which he would shape himself outwardly, and this he comes to resemble as in Nathaniel Hawthorne's tale. Destiny is character as it most persistently constitutes itself. Temple of the Great Stone Face: Venus, Moon, and Mars at '30Pisces'

'Temple of the Great Stone Face' is a drawing meant to represent Astrology's Sabian Symbol for '30 Pisces' the degree of April 22, 2009's Moon-Venus Occultation - when Venus disappears behind the Moon - and marks the conjunction of Venus (attraction) and Mars (desire) for a romantic rendezvous, planetary-style.

And...Wednesday, April 22 is Earth Day 2009 as well!

That's a lot of planetary action occurring at one little degree out of the 360 degrees of the zodiac, isn't it?

Here I quote from Marc Edmund Jones' version of the Symbols for '30 Pisces' which ends the full cycle/circle of the zodiac and butts against the Aries Point of Prominence (00 Aries00):

'The Great Stone Face'...a symbol of human responsibility as an immortality of the soul, and of a way of living which has become a continual manifestation of its ideal and so a constant dramatization of its self-discovery to others as an encouragement to them in their own alignment to eternal reality.

A Large Disappointed Audience

Here is a full view of A Large Disappointed Audience, a drawing in honor of the Sabian Symbol for '28 Aries.'

In his book, The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones gives this degree as...

...the transiency of the rewards in a life taken too literally and narrowly in its more superficial terms. Implicit in the reversed symbolism is the disillusionment that comes when an individual learns that he cannot depend on the applause of his fellows, or make the momentary mood of the masses any proper guide for the values he should pursue.

There is here the call to a selfhood which can rest secure in its own creative potentiality, catering to nothing exterior to itself.

The keyword is: DISJUNCTION...

positive manifestation: complete spiritual independence;

negative/unconscious/shadow side: a destructive assimilation of the self to every defeat or frustration of human kind.

To which I would add: the show must go on!

Lady Unmasking: in time for Feb 7 '08 Eclipse

Lady Unmasking is drawn and published in honor of the Feb 7, 2008 Solar Eclipse in the 10 North Series.

Keyphrases for this Series which last manifested on Jan 26, 1990 (so similar issues may resurface from that time period) are:

strong emphasis on communications; frustrating or inhibiting events occur relating to news, paperwork, or a young person; a draining of energy--take things quietly for there's an element of fatigue with this Series. (Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

Yes, Lady Unmasking is a bit of a departure for Secret Moon Art, for my figure studies and mask-related images are usually published at Cosmic Persona Designs with Children's, Botanical, and Fairy Art published here at SMA.

Plus, I hope you don't mind a smidge of Astrology with your Art today! I have sashayed into Astrology here before--it is Secret Moon Art, after all.

Why "Unmasking"? The reason some folk call this the Unmasking Eclipse is because it falls at "18Aquarius" and the Sabian Symbol for that degree is "A Man Unmasked."

This speaks of a man's secret motives being revealed due to the impossibility of keeping one's true motives hidden forever...and '18AQ' is the opposite degree of Venus' position on 9/11/01.

Venus' degree on 9/11 was same as the Sun/Moon degree of the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse...aka the King of Alarm Eclipse which set the tone for the New Millennium. Sour note so far, right?

Nostradamus' description of this difficult Eclipse related primarily to monetary issues and we know that the attacks of 9/11 were aimed to decimate our financial system.

Yet even Washington DC may fall prey to the influence of the Feb 7 Eclipse, for they have the most secret motives of all...and the most to gain by keeping things out of sight.

A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message

Beyond synchronicity?

Two years ago when I rendered this drawing to illustrate the Sabian Symbol for the 12th degree of Cancer, "A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message" I was unaware that in August 2012, Venus will be "stationary in the hand of Orion" (Signs in the Sky, Adrian Gilbert) in mid-degrees of Gemini.

This relates to the cataclysm of 2012 predicted in the Mayan Calendar and in ancient Egyptian texts--and Venus is the prime planetary actor in the drama.

(And in Astrology, Venus may be considered a significator of a woman, as well as of values, relationships, aesthetics, beauty and the Arts, and money.)

Most people have heard by now that the three pyramids at Giza line up with the stars in the Belt of Orion (though some may dispute it.)

My religious friends have told me for 30 years or so that Christ's Second Coming will be from the direction of the Belt of Orion. And a certain prophet has predicted a Shaking of worldwide proportions--which sounds much like the pole shifting of 2012 with its earthquakes and tidal waves...tsunamis.

Orion as a constellation equates to Osiris, a Christ archetype at the equator, well-known in ancient Egyptian star lore...Orion/Osiris was god...not a symbol of god, he was god.

There is a pyramind text which captures the Egyptian concept of Orion/Osiris:

You sleep that you may wake
You die that you may live.

And in Brady's Book of Fixed Stars, we find that Orion is an archetype of god and because the constellation is on the earth's equator it is subject to the hero's journey of the whirlpool. I'd say that Christ's life on earth was a hero's journey if there ever was one.

The brightest star in Orion is Rigel (Ree' gal) and Venus conjuncts Rigel in August 2012. The Star's keywords are: the educator; one who brings knowledge. Seems the Woman is bringing knowledge bwo her Baby who has a Message for all of mankind.

Well, what brought all this on? you may ask. If you look behind the Woman in the image, you will see what appears in all my drawings of the sky...the constellation of Orion.

And Venus at "12Cancer" will rise with Rigel during August 2012, something I discovered this very evening (Jan 22, 2008.) This occurrence is what reminded me of my drawing for this degree.

Perhaps it's having Orion at Midheaven in my natal chart...yes, that might account for the synchronicity of the planet, the Sabian Symbol, my desire to illustrate it, my belief in the literal Second Coming, and the stars I am impelled to place in the night sky of my drawings, for Orion has been appearing in my artwork since 1995.

Then there's the synchronicity of YOU, Dear Viewer, finding this lonely little art blog with its lost-among-the-millions-online post with my meager illustration of "12Can"...*keyword: MATERIALIZATION...

positive: a gift for bringing the more Godlike resources or superior powers of self to a point of real community service;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: completely unreasonable demands for recognition.


Please do this as soon as practical: go outside and look up at Orion--for he really is the most beautiful constellation in the sky!

In the years 2027-28 Chiron returns to discovery degree 3Tau08--three times due to retrogradation. This drawing is a paltry representation of just such a wondrous night as may be expected from a Wounded Healer who cares. The Sabian Symbol for '4 Taurus' is "A Rainbow's Pot of Gold" and describes the rewards which are guaranteed by an eternal covenant between the least of individuality and the universal matrix of life itself. The keyword for this Symbol is FAITH in the Marc Edmund Jones' version of the Sabian Symbols, quoted above. Dane Rudyar gives this Symbol as COMMUNION, involving a transubstantiation of matter. Keynote: Riches that come from linking the celestial and the earthly nature. 'What the linking process brings to the individual consciousness is elusive, as the rainbow never ends where you are, yet it is the source of symbolic, universally valid wealth.' Minerva's Glen

Here's Minerva's Glen (aka, Owl of Minerva) with Owl coming in for a landing. This drawing was originally perpetrated for my dummybook of Pattillo Armadillo who went to NYC but didn't satisfy the Little, Brown editors or their list. One may always blame "the list" for the particular season! And yet a ms must also have some coherence--yet still be unique--to be on a list with other works. It must fit in but stand out. Sabian Symbol "5Sag"> "A Wise Old Owl Up in a Tree." We each have "5 Sagittarius" somewhere in our charts. Where is yours?
