The Secret Contained in the Number 11

Because of a tattoo on her forearm that says 011, 'Eleven' has turned up recently as a young girl's name in a popular TV series Stranger Things. And as it happens, 11 is about to become part of the few posts I'm planning to publish here featuring individual numbers. Tonight it's number eleven's turn under the spotlight so let's begin.

In Western Astrology, number 11 relates to the 11th sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius, and a horoscope's 11th house of Groups, Associations, Hopes-Wishes, and Collective Aspirations. This associates 11 with the influences of planets Saturn (ancient ruler of AQ) and Uranus (higher octave ruler, aka, co-ruler) and both planets resonate with Astrology, novelty or 'New Age' pursuits, other unusual or occult studies, futuristic or progressive design, past and future (ancient or vintage vs avant garde or modern) studies such as Archaeology, Genealogy, various branches of Science, alternative healing methods and/or practice, humanitarian endeavors, and more. Plus, houses, or departments of life, have their opposite house--here, it's a question of the 5th-11th polarity, aka, the self-will axis which includes 5th house Creative Pursuits, Romance, Children, Risk-Taking, and Gambling.

Now in esoteric realms the number 11 is intriguing to behold! It is equivalent in Hebrew to the letter Caph and is classed by some scholars as prosperous, and by some as having "an evil reputation", perhaps because there are said to be "11 Paths of Darkness." (Seems to me that one path of darkness is one too many but I digress somewhat.)

"In the Sepher Yetzirah the 11th Path is one of Glittering Intelligence for it is "endowed with special grandeur so that he who reaches the end of it with true understanding may be permitted to look upon the face of God and live."

In occult symbolism, number 11 is represented by "A Hand Clenched; Force (pictured by a maiden closing the jaws of a lion); A lion muzzled." This calm maiden has that very look of true understanding on her face and is thus able to close the crouching lion's jaws without fear or pain. Although some form of violence may apply, liberty, power, courage, energy, and "success in fearless ventures" are indicated, plus, the knowledge of how to 'rule the stars'. One cannot understand God's laws unless he studies them."

For "if the Word of God be understood, man would know how to act when faithful action is needed. This is the secret contained in the number 11.

And last but never least is the strange Uranian 11:11 phenomenon apparently inspired by the advent of digital clocks but that's a post of a different timber altogether.

Are the Mona Lisa's hidden secrets revealed?

Now this is an interesting Art development based on a recently discovered text which allegedly reveals hidden numbers and letters within the mysterious, enigmatic eyes of da Vinci's Mona Lisa!

The figures are microscopic, but found there may be the number 72 which in Astrology represents a quintile aspect having the numerical value of 5, the Number of Man. Double it for 144 degrees of artistic talent, a bi-quintile.

In his book The Astrology of Relationship, Michael R. Meyer gives the quintile division this Keynote: The capacity for creative manipulation of energies and substances for the actual manifestation of visions and plans.

Symbolic Implications: The five senses, the five limbs (two arms, two legs, and the head), the four fingers and the thumb. Naturally, we think of da Vinci's famous drawing of the Vitruvian Man! Perhaps the newly found 'secret figures' are not quite up to 'Da Vinci Code' movie script standards but may turn out to be interesting nonetheless.

Well, the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci, the original Renaissance Man, was a quintile kind of artist with various interests which included the many illuminations of his day.

So we may wish to consider the Earth-Water Sun Taurus-Moon Pisces personality blend of Leonardo da Vinci, born April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy (near Florence):

Sun Tau-Moon Pis mixes the Architect of Taurus with the Mystic of Pisces; Taurus is ruled by artful Venus while Pisces is ruled by abundant Jupiter and co-ruled by Neptune, planet of higher inspirations. This blend's vibe includes nature mysticism, creativity, poetry, and a deep love of beauty. It describes one who is easy-going yet determined and has compassionate concern for the needs of others; this is a practical dreamer combo of a man who at heart is very private and yet warmly responds to others.

The mind-body-emotion connection is effortlessly understood by this blend, and sparing time to brood may be a regular indulgence (great for an artist!); a deep connection is felt to Mother Earth, so perhaps Leo had a secret grotto he'd steal way to for pondering purposes!

And in the Harveys' book Sun Sign-Moon Sign, we find mention of Leonardo in the Images for Integration for Sun Tau-Moon Pis:

"Through the power of the imagination a man is healed...A poet prepares his accounts in verse...The Mona Lisa."

Silverbelly: BP-Gulf Oil leak now capped!

Oh look! A little Silverbelly has floated in from Dreamyfish Art to Secret Moon Art to crow a bit - well, to glub, actually - over today's capping of the BP oil gusher in the Gulf of Mexico!

Oil is now longer flowing as of BP's efforts today so let's hope the oil keeps not flowing, shall we? Woot!

Then perhaps my faith in the flavor of the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse isn't completely misplaced even though today's success (coming a mere 4 days after the Eclipse!) is temporary with BP saying they plan to 'plug' the well in August, which is meant to be a more permanent solution than today's 'tight-fitting' cap.

The July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse in oceanic, watery Cancer (@19Can24, the sign of the crab!) contains a flavor of 'things at first seem worse, then clear with successful outcomes' so after all these weeks of oil, gas, and dispersants ruining the waters, shores, and livelihoods of the Gulf Coast region, this 'clearing' outcome sounds very good to me. You?

Eclipse info for the 12 South Series: Brady's Predictive Astrology

Oh dear! Guess this is all that remains of Kyle Castle in Great Britain and my Cowell-Kyle-Coel-Coil-Coyles-Coilus-Cole family members circa 2009 must be living elsewhere by now...let us hope.

A friend sent me this photo a while back and I don't know who snapped it. The pic may be from a website so if this is your work, you have only to let me know to receive a deserved photo cred, no problem!

Until then, I'll be sleeping in America where my ancestors migrated afar from their Old King Cole/King Coilus remembrances of long ago...such as...

King Coilus was King of the Britons in Roman times, I've read, and there were thought to be 3 of them - father, son, and grandson, at least one of which was an early astrologer. (This would apparently make me a late astrologer.)

In fact, if you know anything about Astrology charts, you're familiar with the terms Medium Coeli (Mc) and Immum Coeli (Ic) with 'coeli' meaning 'heavens' or 'sky.' Well, you'd be under the heavens and stars for certain if you slept a night in Kyle Castle!

Interestingly, the ancient city of Colchester may figure in to the legends somewhere, and although I've seen Colchester featured on PBS' Rick Steves travel program, I have yet to walk its narrow streets in search of a distant cousin or two. But I do know that if you say 'Kyle' or 'Kile' with the right accent, you get what in America sounds like 'Coil.'

And few believe its verity, yet I've read that when William the Conqueror first arrived in England one of his men struck the land (presumably with his sword) and is said to have been given the surname Strickland ('Strike land'.) Funny that, since my Dad's mother was a Strickland. William built Colchester Castle in 1076 on Roman ruins - the Temple of Claudius - to give it strength which must have worked since it's available for touching if you but go there and lay your hand upon it.

Yes, these old chieftains of Eire are sometimes known as Coel Hen - Coel the Old) which I assume to be an 'Old King Cole' reference, but who knows? It was all so many centuries ago.

Plus, it may be the case that King Coilus' daughter
Helen married - or birthed, I never remember which - Emperor Constantine and both of them went mad for Christianity as promoted by the Catholic Church. (I say that because in America my family has been firmly Protestant for as long as we can remember! Yet back across the ages and the seas to Ye Olde Country, who knows? Druids, perhaps? ;p)

Well, you may wish to merrily check out more ancient history about King Cole and Roman Britain at Wikipedia, but Bing or Google for more links and sites where some industrious folks have traced their lineages back to ancient Britain, but most are just full of misty history.

Now perhaps you've never read the Page in the sidebar column of my Word Press blog wherein I detail the harrowing evening of my entry into the space/time flux of Planet Earth. You see, a personal name asteroid Cowell arose that evening, a few minutes later I was born, then asteroid Judith arose a few minutes later.

And who synchronistically named the little squalling babe on that dark winter's night? My Dad, of course, for he obviously knew a fellow Cowell when he saw one!

Update June 10, 2015: Venus, Politics, Presidents, Astrology, Zodiacs, and Washington DC

How curious that I posted Venus Rising in 2008 since I discovered only recently that April 6, 2008 is what some call the first day of the current Venus Cycle. So considering the 8-year cycle of planet #Venus there is hidden significance in America's 2016 Election/s because 2008 + 8 = 2016. And let us not leave out our Founding Fathers' preference for a goddess-worshiping mystery religion. If a woman is elected president in 2016, we will have uplifted once again matriarchal rule after centuries of paternalism.

Although political conservatives and Evangelicals in the US prefer to call them 'Christians', Franklin, Washington, Jefferson, and our other Utopian founders are usually listed as 'Deists' and most people are aware of their secret society connections such as Freemasonry, Illuminism, and Rosicrucianism. Yet the feminine statues and engravings that decorate the city of Washington DC (ex: the Armed Freedom statue on the Capitol Dome, the stars of constellation Virgo so prominent during early Masonic cornerstone layings of DC buildings and highlighted within DC's many Zodiacs and horoscopes) with their Great Mother-Isis-Semiramis-Mary and Virgo/Ceres/Demeter symbolism relates directly to goddess and archetype, Venus, the beautiful and the vengeful.

Of course, Venus is the consort of our country's official and obvious phallic symbol, the Washington Monument which is dedicated to the "Father of Our Country", sterile though George seems to have been (probably due to one of his several childhood diseases. Additionally, George descended from a Star Family of Enochian priests which is one reason his contemporaries idolized him so highly as a cult leader and by other of his brethren immortalized Washington in statue as 'Jupiter-Zeus' and as a transcendent being (ex: the famous painting of his apotheosis into godhood...Enoch translated to heaven? puh!)

Now as you know, a 5-pointed star is a symbol of Venus, too (5 x 8 = 40.) Stars appear on the Washington family crest which was a template for the design of the US flag. And with a few unavoidable exceptions (assassination, resignation), our US presidential inaugurations every 4 years are held based on the Venus Cycle for as you know, much value is typically attached to the concept of a two-term presidential residency (2 x 4 = 8) of the Oval Office, its shape a shout-out to the Cosmic Egg and the fertility of goddess Venus. Plus, have you ever heard Washington DC called the "New Jerusalem"? This is an intriguing Venusian link as well because the word 'Jerusalem' means "place of Venus rising," a good place for the observation of planet Venus at certain times of the year.

And no, yours truly knew very little of these concepts when I visualized, then perpetrated, the above drawing of Venus Rising! jc

Actually this pencilic rendering is an expression of Mercury's links to the astrological 12th house of the Unconscious and its typical feeling of thoughts floating up from the Unconscious realm which is symbolized in our dreams by Neptune's province, the ocean.

And that includes the Collective Unconscious--as Cetus the Whale and this mer-maid could agree!

Keyphrases for this Series which last manifested on Jan 26, 1990 (so similar issues may resurface from that time period) are:

strong emphasis on communications; frustrating or inhibiting events occur relating to news, paperwork, or a young person; a draining of energy--take things quietly for there's an element of fatigue with this Series. (Brady's Predictive Astrology.)

Plus, I hope you don't mind a smidge of Astrology with your Art today! I have sashayed into Astrology here before--it is Secret Moon Art, after all.

Why "Unmasking"? The reason some folk call this the Unmasking Eclipse is because it falls at "18Aquarius" and the Sabian Symbol for that degree is "A Man Unmasked."

This speaks of a man's secret motives being revealed due to the impossibility of keeping one's true motives hidden forever...and '18AQ' is the opposite degree of Venus' position on 9/11/01.

Venus' degree on 9/11 was same as the Sun/Moon degree of the August 11, 1999 Solar Eclipse...aka the King of Alarm Eclipse which set the tone for the New Millennium. Sour note so far, right?

Nostradamus' description of this difficult Eclipse related primarily to monetary issues and we know that the attacks of 9/11 were aimed to decimate our financial system.

Yet even Washington DC may fall prey to the influence of the Feb 7 Eclipse, for they have the most secret motives of all...and the most to gain by keeping things out of sight.
