Misty Night v2

The background is coming into focus now...is this what you envisioned? (see previous image) It may not be the great green gobs of granulated gopher guts that you imagined, dunno...but it'll have to do.

Now! should a fairy pop out of the bushes...or not? Either way is fine with me but you know that sometimes fairies insinuate themselves unbidden into my drawings and I know of no remedy for it.

Let me know what you think by emailing to judecowell@gmail dot com for I would like to finish this drawing before the cows come home. They'll be tired and grumpy.

Misty Night...in part

Having no idea where this drawing is "heading" I produce it for you here in an incomplete stage barely half-done.

Hopefully the next image I publish in the Secret Moon Art collection will be the finished version of Misty Night but if not, I will link to it.

Any ideas what's back there in the shadows? I suppose the Moon must be hiding for the time being but what else?

Hidden Garden re-revealed!

With Mercury now retrograde (Rx) in Cancer (sign of the primordial sludge) I'm re-publishing Hidden Garden to create good reason for stopping by and pointing you toward the rockin' photography of planetary, natural, and landscape images by Alan Friedman at Averted Imagination and see Alan's excellent photo of Comet McNaught streaking across the heavens here.

Alan's site is from Secret Moon Art's Don't Miss file!

Kassandra Blessings

Now you may not appreciate Kassandra's Blessings--her prophecies were true but no one believed them--but here she is to see you all the same!

Full Moon at Green Arch Observatory

Tonight's Full Moon appearing with the jolly planet Jupiter has inspired one of my 'observatory' drawings (Prismacolor oil pencils and Rexel Derwent watercolours.)

To read why this Full Moon actually isn't a Blue Moon as some have called it read NPR's Blue Moon? article or listen to the broadcast from this morning.

Night of the Painted bunting

Painted buntings lay low in shrubs and bushes unless and until they're lookin' for luv...guess this fellow must be on his way to a secret rendezvous!

Primula vialii in Moonlight

This Primrose, Primula viallii is a hardy and deciduous perennial which forms rosettes of somewhat hairy, toothed leaves over which bloom poker-like spikes of tubular flowers that are crimson when in bud but later open to violet-purple in summer (it's double L in 'viallii'...sorry, but if I change the post title it'll mess with the link.)

Neutral to acid soil in partial shade for these little ladies, please!

The fairy just showed up unannounced and unbidden...you may have to click to enlarge to see her there.

You'll find new art uploaded at Cosmic Persona Designs for your personal viewing pleasure...
